Children have access to the area behind the shed where wire fencing, wooden boards, and stones are. Cat food was observed on the playground accessible to children. Liquid air freshener plug ins were observed in the home accessible to children. Personal hygene products were observed on top of the bathroom counter accessible to children.

The operational policies were evaluated and lacked the following written procedures: 1) Procedures for parents to visit the home any time during hours of operation to observe their child, program activities, the home, the premises, and equipment without having to secure prior approval; 2) Procedures for parents to review a copy of the homes most recent Licensing inspection report and how the parent may access the minimum standards online.; 3) the HHSC website (www.hhs.texas.gov).

The director lacked one hour of training in the following topics to complete last years annual training: (1) Recognizing and preventing shaken baby syndrome; (2) Understanding and using safe sleep practices and preventing sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS); and (3) Understanding early childhood brain development.

The director lacked 3.5 hours of training to complete last years annual training.
