The operation could not show proof of fire drills being conducted in 2026. There were also missing drills from 2025. This was corrected when the fire drill was completed and the operation was able to exit the building with all children in under 2 minutes.

The operation could not provide proof of monthly fire extinguisher checks. I spoke with the director about doing the checks each month after the fire drill is completed. The fire extinguishers were checked during the inspection.

The operation was not able to provide proof of a sheltering drill completed within the year of 2026. I spoke with the director about completing the drill this week and ensuring that they are completed 4 times in a calendar year.

During an investigation it was found that a caregiver slipped off their shoe while disciplining a child and stated something like "you know I dont do that", and then slipped their shoe back on.

During an inspection at the operation, a caregiver was on their phone while caring for children. This was corrected when the phone was put away.

A child was able to leave the operation without the caregivers knowlege. During an inspection at the operation, a caregiver was texting on their phone while caring for children. This was corrected when the phone was put away.

Observed a slide on the playground that had play mats underneath, but was not acceptable loose fill for the slide. The slide was taken off the playground.

Observed an infant in a hight chair that was low to the ground without a safety strap being used. This was corrected when the infant was strapped into the seat.

Observed broken equipment outside on the playground, the broken stools were removed from the playgorund. Also observed large tables being stored in the school age room and there was no gate to block off the stairs for the children.

Observed a 17 month old infant in the same classroom as children who were 7 years old. There was more than an 18 month gap between the youngest and oldest child in the classroom.

On the small playground there was a tote with electrical cords and a tool where the children can reach, there was also a piece of wood laying against the fence that could fall on children. There were pieces of wood stacked on the infant play area and the stairs were blocked with wooden raised flower boxes and stools that could fall on children. There was a greed rug hug over the railing of the stairs. The director was able to remove these items from the playground.
